Backstage footage has emerged of Conor McGregor clashing with backup fighter Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 264 this weekend.
The Brazilian fighter will step in the Octagon and face McGregor should Dustin Poirier pull out with an injury or illness at the 11th hour.
But the two men almost came to blows just minutes after Friday's first weigh-in.
As McGregor stepped off the scales and headed back to his dressing room, he saw his former rival and had to be held back by security.
The 32-year-old began to repeatedly call dos Anjos a "rat" as bodyguards stood in between the pair.
"You bottled it mate, you bottled it!," McGregor also shouted at the South American fighter.
McGregor and dos Anjos were scheduled to fight in the UFC 196 main event back in 2016 but a broken foot forced the latter out of the bout.
Dos Anjos responded by shouting "f*** you" to McGregor as he was led away, later saying he would fight the 'Notorious' backstage.
Earlier on Friday, McGregor stepped onto the scales at 156lb for the bout on Saturday evening.
But soon after, a cryptic tweet emerged from dos Anjos.
The 36-year-old posted: "Conor you’re such a snake, sneaking from behind and playing tough.
"Soon or later we will finish business. I’m not like the guys you play around with."
When dos Anjos was tipped to be the backup option this week, McGregor took to Twitter, saying: "Put dos Anjos in at the same time."
But he hit back, tweeting: "Alcoholic hallucinosis from drinking cheap whiskey until 3:39am."
Speaking at this week's press conference, McGregor seemed confident of beating Poirier in their trilogy bout.
"I’m going to go through his head, put holes in him and take it off his shoulders, that’s the goal here," he said.
"He's done here, this is it for him, this is the end of the road.
"It's on, Saturday night he's getting walked around that octagon like a dog and put to sleep."
