‘There’s going to be a heavyweight from outside the UK and the US who is going to make a lot of noise’: Floyd Mayweather predicts Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua’s dominance will soon come to an end
- Tyson Fury wrenched the WBC title from Deontay Wilder in a spectacular display
- Anthony Joshua is current holder of the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles
- The two British rivals currently hold all four of the major belts in the division
Floyd Mayweather believes an unknown heavyweight will soon end Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury’s dominance in the division.
Fury claiming the WBC title from Deontay Wilder in a spectacular display last month means he and fellow Brit Joshua, the WBA, IBF and WBO champion, hold all four of the major belts in the heavyweight division.
Eddie Hearn has since revealed he is ‘ready to conclude a deal’ for a December showdown between Joshua and Fury to determine the undisputed world heavyweight champion.

But Mayweather insists they will soon be knocked off their perch because there are ‘great fighters all around the world’.
‘Boxing is strong all around the world, and even if I was in the US I would say the same thing,’ Mayweather replied when he was asked who would come out on top between Joshua and Fury at an event at York Hall promoted by DKM Promotions.
‘Just because you win one fight, that doesn’t define your career. You can be up here today and down here tomorrow, so no fighter should ever take that for granted.
‘Anthony Joshua is a hell of a fighter. Tyson Fury is hell of a fighter. It doesn’t matter who wins, if I’m not getting paid that’s none of my business.
‘But the thing about boxing is that there’s great fighters all around the world, and there’s always someone ready to take that spot.
‘There’s going to be a heavyweight who is not from the UK and not from the US who is going to make a lot of noise. Everybody remember that, mark it down.’
