Nate Diaz says Saturday’s welterweight fight with Khamzat Chimaev isn’t one he wanted and insists he doesn’t care if he gets his his ‘ass whooped’ by the ‘rising star.
Diaz will complete the final fight of his UFC deal at UFC 278 and has stated his intention to leave the promotion afterwards.
Many fans believe the UFC have given him a near impossible match-up as a result, undefeated Chimaev having been a dominant force in the welterweight division since his arrival.

Speaking to ESPN, Diaz said: ‘I’m the champion of the whole UFC, all together, and I don’t give a f***
‘What they got me doing right now is acting like I called for this fight, which I didn’t call for, and I don’t want, didn’t want and still don’t want but I don’t give a f***. I’ll fight anybody. Pressure is on him.
‘He better finish me cos he’s the next killer in town. Pressure’s on me cos I better not get killed by the next killer in town. But if I whoop his ass they gonna say he wasn’t the best in town.
‘If I get my ass whooped guess what, you still got a free agent out there who is still only the No 2 fighter in the world.’
Diaz will compete the final fight of his UFC deal against Khamzat Chimeav of Russia
