Quinton Flowers left the Tampa Bay Vipers last week for what the team described as personal reasons. The quarterback, who is also listed on the roster as a running back, returned to the team this week and participated in practice Wednesday.
But Flowers may not be with the Vipers for long. The former South Florida standout, who played his college ball in Tampa, told reporters following practice that his reasoning behind his brief departure was a trade request.
Flowers added that he wants to help the team, but appears to desire a more developed role in the Vipers' offense that sputtered before Taylor Cornelius passed for 211 yards and a TD in the team's first win of the season — a 25-0 blanking of the DC Defenders on Sunday.
