Wigan coach Adrian Lam has hailed Liam Marshall “one of the best wingers in the competition” after he scored what is already being called the try of the season in their game against Huddersfield.
Marshall scored three tries in the 42-10 win but it was his four-pointer right before half-time that had Warriors fans in raptures.

Leading 14-10, Marshall caught the ball off the restart and did not hesitate to back himself.
Winger’s outrageous try
Rugby League: Wigan winger Liam Marshall has produced one of the most outrageous tries seen for a long time after a chip-and-chase off the kickoff resulted in him scoring against Huddersfield.
He proceeded to immediately kick ahead for himself, racing past Giants defenders and scooping the ball up before outpacing them all the way to the try line.
It capped off a brilliant performance from Marshall, with Wigan running in four tries against a 12-man Huddersfield outfit after Aidan Sezer was sent to the bin near halftime.
“He was sensational. He does some amazing things,” coach Lam said of Marshall after the game.
“We moved him from the right to the left and this year so far he’s just been one of the best wingers in the competition.”
Lam also revealed that he did not even get to catch Marshall’s stunning try live, perhaps also not expecting the winger to pull off the length-of-the-field display.
“I was walking down for half time,” he said.
“I walked out of the tunnel and saw him just running through chasing the ball. I didn’t even see it happen!”
