NRL 2021 Round 15 LIVE updates: Brisbane Broncos v South Sydney Rabbitohs

Rabbitohs already all over the Broncos…

Taane Milne dives over but the try has gone up as no try.

On review, his foot’s on the touch line and the try is denied.

Sad result for Milne, who was eager to get his first try of the season.

Beanies for Brain Cancer round

Great to see the boys coming up the tunnel in their beanies.

It’s Beanies for Brain Cancer round this week. You can buy a beanie or donate to the Mark Hughes Foundation here.

If you haven’t had a chance yet, take a read of this feel good story Chief Sports Writer Andrew Webster wrote ahead of the round.

A bit of news about today…

Here’s some league news from today to catch up on if you haven’t already:

  • The Panthers are set to get a new stadium as early as 2025 due to the state government’s decision to reallocate funds from Stadium Australia
  • Blake Ferguson is considering a move to rugby union after an approach from the Western Force
  • And Brad Fittler has praised Angus Crichton ahead of making the call as to whether he will play in Game II after missing out on the opener due to suspension

Bit of breaking news…

Welp, COVID-19 is well and truly back in NSW.

The NSW Blues are set to head to Kingscliff next week to avoid any border restrictions. Three new COVID-19 cases were reported today in NSW.

This disruption may be what Queensland needs to get an edge in the series (because apparently $8 million to host the opener wasn’t enough…)

Thursday night footy is here

Hello and welcome to the first match of round 15.

Sarah Keoghan here – I’ll be taking you through tonight’s game.

Hopefully it will be one worth watching, and we won’t see a total carve up at Suncorp.

The Souths are out to prove they are genuine top four prospects.

Dane Gagai is out there warming up with the group – which is a huge boost for the Rabbitohs, as is the return of Jai Arrow.

Both players came away from last Wednesday’s series opener under injury clouds.

It will also be a big night for Karmichael Hunt, who needs to do a lot more than he did in Canberra last week to prove to Kevin Walters he deserves the starting five-eighth spot.

Winger Xavier Coates returns to the side and will be looking to put in a huge performance to prove himself for Origin Game II.
