What time does State of Origin Game 3 actually kick off?

While NSW have been completely dominant as the state hunts its first series clean sweep in 21 years — and the first ever completely on Queensland soil — there is still plenty at stake for game three.

World Cup spots and representative careers are all riding on this match, including the coaching future of Paul Green as Maroons coach and the captaincy of Daly Cherry-Evans.

On the Blues side, it’s the question mark that has always haunted the state over whether it can be as ruthless as the Maroons have been, while the overarching importance of a strong Maroons side to the future of the format could also be put to the test.

Green himself says the Maroons are 2-3 years from bringing the next generation through. It’s a question that’s been asked before but can Origin survive a rebuilding Queensland?

With the Blues heavily favoured to complete a Queensland clean sweep and heading into the match with a 76-6 series aggregate, Origin may be set to face its biggest test yet.

What time does State of Origin game three start?

State of Origin Game III is scheduled to kick off at 8.10pm AEST on Wednesday July 14. The start time has been pretty much nailed throughout the series but there’s always room for a delay.

It will be the first time an Origin match has been held at the Gold Coast’s Cbus Super Stadium. Aussie pop/rock group Lime Cordiale and Indigenous rapper JK47 will perform pre-match.

How can I watch?

The game will be broadcast live on Channel 9.

Australia’s No. 1 sports streaming service Kayo will have pre-game coverage from 6pm (AEST), as well as a wrap up straight after full-time before a full replay of the clash starting at 10.45pm.
