Aaron Ramsdale pulled out of Arsenal’s squad to face Chelsea at the last minute today after his wife Georgina gave birth to a baby boy.
The Gunners have travelled to Stamford Bridge today in a huge Premier League clash.
However, Arsenal’s No 1 Ramsdale had to pull out of the squad at the last minute after his wife Georgina gave birth to baby boy.
Before the game, manager Mikel Arteta discussed his absence to the media.
After being asked why he wasn’t in the squad, he said: ‘Absolutely most beautiful reason in life and they happened yesterday, so they are both ok today.’

The England international has been in competition with David Raya throughout the campaign
In Ramsdale’s place, Karl Hein was named on the Arsenal subs bench. The Estonia international is yet to make his debut for the club.
Ramsdale kept his spot in the recent England squad but was not used as Sam Johnstone and Jordan Pickford played in the qualifiers.
Asked about whether he’s concerned about losing his place in the England squad ahead of next summer’s European Championship due to a lack of action at Arsenal, Ramsdale responded: ‘Yes, of course, it is the first time I have found myself in this situation.
‘The manager here [Gareth Southgate] is brilliant, he trusts the players he’s worked with before as we’ve seen in different types of ways – you’ll see Kalvin [Phillips] and Harry [Maguire] haven’t played the most amount of minutes but when they step up for England and are given the opportunity, they perform.
