Allan Saint-Maximin is clearly getting swept up in all the news regarding Newcastle’s takeover bid. The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) had initially agreed 18 months ago a deal in principle for the takeover of Newcastle and finally look to be edging closer to an agreement.
At one stage, the deal looked to be all but signed off, only for talks to shut down months later after the Premier League stepped in over a disagreement on who would control the club.
However, in a stunning turn of events on Wednesday, news broke that the Saudi-based consortium appear closer than ever to completing their takeover.
The Times report that an agreement is ‘just hours away’ after a resolution was reached over piracy issues.
News spread quickly on social media with Newcastle fans getting swept up in the frenzy.

Talk returned of how Newcastle will soon become the richest club in world football.
Supporters all began dreaming of a new venture for the club which could see them compete with the best clubs in the world in the transfer market.
And it appears as though Newcastle players have also been paying attention to the ever-evolving news cycle.
Saint-Maximin has established himself as a fan-favourite at Newcastle since joining two years ago.
Not only is the 24-year-old loved by the Toon Army for his talents on the field, but his interactions on social media have also earned him a cult following.
And Saint-Maximin was active on Twitter on Thursday morning, posting a short viral clip of someone laughing while shouting, “good morning!”
The tweet immediately drew plenty of attention from Newcastle fans, with thousands ‘liking’ it.

It’s been reported that approval from the Premier League may well come at some point on Thursday.
The Saudi state will reportedly not have control of the club with the PIF being seen as a separate state altogether, allowing them to pass the owners’ and directors’ test in the Premier League.
Mike Ashley will supposedly receive £300million once the takeover is complete.
