Arsenal fans brutally mocked Sead Kolasinac after he was on the end of a reckless challenge from Chelsea transfer target Jules Kounde.
Playing for Bosnia against France in a World Cup qualifier, Kolasinac was looking to put his disappointing start to the season right on international duty.
But he was the recipient of a woeful tackle from Sevilla defender Kounde in the second half as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Stade de la Meinau in Strasbourg on Wednesday night.
The result was a major boost for Bosnia as they kept their hopes of finishing second and reaching the play-offs alive.
Former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko gave Bosnia a shock lead during the first half, but Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann levelled after just three minutes.
However, early in the second half there were ugly scenes as Kounde flew in on Kolasinac with a studs-up tackle.
The £60m Chelsea target was shown a yellow card by the referee initially before VAR overturned it to a red, while Kolasinac was forced off as a result.
It remains to be seen if the left-back will feature again for Bosnia during the international break.
But a small number of Gunners fans are clearly not too upset that he may be out of action for a while as they delivered some brutal responses on social media after seeing the challenge from Kounde.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Doing us a huge favour."
"Mans really injured himself so he can keep his wages," a cynical second added.
A third wrote: "Good man, cheers."

"Thank you kounde," tweeted a fourth.
There were plenty of Gunners fans who wished Kolasinac a speedy recovery though, showing that he does still have support from the Gunners faithful.
"That's terrible, I hope he feels better soon!" shared one supporter.
As a sad second added: "I wish Kola a speedy recovery."
