With Barcelona reportedly lining up a move for Mohamed Salah, Liverpool will likely be considering who they could demand in return for the Egyptian. Salah has starred for the Reds this season, scoring 15 goals in 15 games to fire Jurgen Klopp’s men to a title challenge.
But there are serious concerns at Anfield that they could be forced to sell the 29-year-old with his contract entering its final year at the end of the season.
Talks over a new deal have so far been slow to progress, with Salah understood to be demanding a well-earned significant pay rise.
The Reds have so far been unwilling to match that demand, alerting admirers to the possibility of signing the attacker.
One of those clubs is Barcelona, with El Nacional reporting that new boss Xavi has asked for Salah to be signed ‘at all costs’.
With Barca strapped for cash that could take the form of a swap deal and here Daily Express Sport looks at four players who Liverpool could demand as part of that.

If Salah does depart Anfield, there would be a huge hole to fill in Liverpool’s attack and former Reds star Philippe Coutinho could be the man to help fill it.
The Brazilian enjoyed a highly successful time in his first spell at Liverpool, earning himself a dream move to Barca.
But that move has not worked out as hoped, with Coutinho struggling for consistent game time, leading to Barca being open to letting him leave.
That first few years in the Premier League will still remain in Liverpool’s minds and Barca would certainly be open to entertaining a swap deal between Coutinho and Salah.

Even with Salah, Liverpool have been light on attacking options and a swap deal would give them the chance to secure a long-time target in Ousmane Dembele.
The winger has been battered by injury since moving to the Nou Camp from Borussia Dortmund, but he is still obviously talented.
Perhaps a departure from Catalonia can help to resurrect his career with Liverpool able to demand him in exchange for Salah.
Frenkie De Jong
Admittedly, this offer may be hard for Barca to accept, but if they want Salah they will likely have to give up one of their star players in return.
One of those stars could be Frenkie De Jong, who emerged as one of the brightest stars in Europe at Ajax.
De Jong would be able to cover two positions for Klopp, a valuable commodity for a squad that has been light on quality options in the past.
Barcelona are facing their own impending contract issues with rising star Gavi, who will be available on a free transfer in the same summer as Salah.
Gavi appears to be a generational talent, becoming a regular for Barca and the Spanish national team at the age of just 17.
But much like Liverpool, the La Liga club will need to cash in on him soon if he does not sign a new deal, giving the Reds a chance to finally replace Georginio Wijnaldum.
