Mauricio Pochettino believes Chelsea need to take their chances.
Ben Chilwell has urged his Chelsea team-mates to stop wasting their chances in front of goal in order to help the Blues make progress under Mauricio Pochettino. The west Londoners fell to their second defeat of the new Premier League campaign on Saturday, with Nottingham Forest claiming a memorable three points at Stamford Bridge.
Forest took the lead just after the break when Anthony Elanga found the bottom corner after being played through by Taiwo Awoniyi. Chelsea responded by throwing men forward in a bid to draw level and had multiple opportunities to score, but the elusive goal failed to arrive before the full-time whistle.
Nicolas Jackson’s shocking miss from inside the six-yard box was the pick of the bunch as Chelsea fell desperately short when it came to finishing their chances. Chilwell gave a despondent interview in the aftermath of the game, urging his attacking team-mates to be more ruthless in order to put things right in the near future.
“We are moving in the right direction, every game we have controlled possession and the majority of matches we have played,” said Chilwell. “We need to finish chances, be more ruthless and stay composed to get back into games. That’s the final bit, finishing our chances.”

Chelsea have rarely struggled to create chances this season but their conversion rate has been dreadfully low and will need to improve as a matter of priority. They have taken a total of 92 shots but have only scored 5.4 per cent of the time, which has resulted in a disappointing tally of five goals in four matches.
It seems as though Pochettino is fully aware of the problem, with the Argentine insisting after the full-time whistle against Forest that Chelsea will not be able to improve until they start scoring more often.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino takes dig at Nicolas Jackson after Forest loss[LATEST]
“I think today we created chances, we dominated the game but we were not clinical enough in the last third,” he said. “We should score, if you want to win and we made one mistake and concede. Not frustrated but disappointed because in this process you need luck.
“I don’t want to take credit from Nottingham Forest because we knew how they should play, but I think we were not clinical in both areas. There were many mistakes and we conceded and then we create too many opportunities and we dominate and we played in the opposite half and didn’t score. When you don’t score, it’s difficult to win games.”
