Eduardo Camavinga is reportedly set to seal a deadline day move to Real Madrid after the LaLiga club had a £27million bid plus add-ons accpeted by Rennes.

Camavinga, who has also had interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, is out of contract at the end of the season and Real look to have won the race for the highly rated 18-year-old.

According to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Camavinga completed a medical with the Spanish side on Monday evening after choosing Real over the Red Devils.

Camavinga is thought to have chosen a move to Carlo Ancelotti’s side over joining Manchester United, who were also interested

The midfielder came through the youth ranks at Rennes and made his first-team debut at the age of 16, making him the club’s youngest ever professional.

Rennes have kept the Camavinga out of their starting line-up for their last three games due to the on-going speculation regarding his future.

The club have maintained that the midfielder would either sign an extension or be sold this summer and it appears as if they have accepted his departure.

Speaking earlier this summer, Rennes boss Bruno Genesio insisted the situation would be resolved before the end of the window.

‘We have already stressed several times that we cannot afford to remain in this situation concerning an international player like him,’ he said.

‘It’s part of a career to have important decisions to make, he has a very important one (decision) to make for his future, and we at the club also have our interests to defend.

‘I hope we find a solution that everyone is satisfied with.’

The Frenchman is out of contract with Rennes at the end of the season and the club were adamant they would not lose him on a free transfer

It had looked as if PSG would win the race for the youngster’s signature but Real have turned their attentions to the midfielder after being unable to agree a deal for Kylian Mbappe.

As well as impressing at club level, Camavinga has made an impression on the international stage.

He made his senior France debut in September 2020 at the age of 17 and scored his first international goal a month later with a sensational overhead kick.
