Chelsea will look to renew the contracts of N’Golo Kante and Mason Mount after Antonio Rudiger’s immediate future is decided, according to reports. The Blues are keen to tie down a number of their most important players over the next few months as they go in search of this season’s Premier League title.

Chelsea led a fruitful summer transfer window, with the addition of talismanic striker Romelu Lukaku their pick of the bunch.

The Belgian marksman has already scored four times for the Stamford Bridge club since completing his club-record move from Inter Milan last month.

His form has helped the Blues to emerge as the Premier League’s early leaders with four wins and a draw from their opening five matches.

With the summer window now well and truly behind them, Chelsea appear to have switched their focus to retaining the services of their key players.

Andreas Christensen is reportedly poised to sign a new deal in the coming weeks, while Rudiger is also in talks with club chiefs over the possibility of a long-term stay.

Chelsea have failed to make a great deal of progress regarding the German defender’s contract situation as of late, but Thomas Tuchel has already drawn up a list of stars to follow him and Christensen in signing on the dotted line.

Kante and Mount are next on the agenda, while a host of others will also be approached in the near future, according to the Evening Standard.

The former, who is regarded as one of the club’s prized assets, will be out of contract at the end of next season and the offer of a new deal is said to be in the works behind closed doors.

Meanwhile, Mount has established himself as arguably Chelsea’s finest academy graduate in recent years and will be rewarded for his meteoric rise with a lucrative extension.

The report also claims that Jorginho could be tied down on a long-term basis after winning the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award last month.

However, it is believed that Chelsea will only commence talks with the aforementioned trio once new deals for Christensen and Rudiger have been rubber-stamped.

Talks with Rudiger have reportedly stalled over the player’s wage demands, which are said to be in the region of £200,000 per week.

He will be able to negotiate a free transfer to a foreign club from January, with Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid understood to be keeping tabs on his situation.

Tuchel admitted last week that Chelsea were no closer to agreeing a deal with Rudiger, who played a significant role in helping the west London club to win the Champions League last season.
