Mauricio Pochettino praises Raheem Sterling after Chelsea's win against Luton
Chelsea are reportedly considering a surprise transfer offer for Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe after Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino drew up a new three-man shortlist of attacking reinforcements to target before the window closes on Friday. Smith Rowe has not featured in any of the Gunners’ opening three Premier League games, with his future at the Emirates in question.
The Daily Mail have claimed that Chelsea are considering Smith Rowe alongside two options, as they are keen on adding further attacking quality to Pochettino’s squad – which has looked thin to begin the season as a result of mass sales and injuries.
Todd Boehly and co are also weighing up approaches for Barcelona stars Ferran Torres and Raphinha, as the trio are being discussed by the Chelsea hierarchy before they move forward with their plans for the final few days of the window.
Negotiations are not said to be advanced for any transfer and it remains to be seen whether Smith Rowe, Torres or Raphinha have any interest in moving to Stamford Bridge to link up with Pochettino.

Smith Rowe had an injury-ravaged campaign last year and is yet to play a single minute in Arsenal’s first three league games despite returning to full fitness, as he is seemingly behind a host of players in Mikel Arteta’s pecking order and there is a chance that he may consider leaving in search of regular playing time.
Arsenal made the decision to keep the 23-year-old earlier in the summer, but would likely be able to fetch a sizable fee from one of their closest rivals for an academy product that has yet to make the desired impact this season – unless Chelsea instead decide to intensify their pursuits of the Barcelona wingers.

Raphinha turned down the option to join Chelsea last summer as he opted to snub both the Blues and Arsenal in favour of Barcelona, but amid the La Liga champions’ financial issues and the emergence of 16-year-old wonderkid Lamine Yamal, they could let either the Brazilian or Torres leave in order to help their cash flow.
Chelsea had also been interested in Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson, but both they and Brentford now appear to be behind Tottenham after suitors were quoted an asking price of £50m for the Wales star.
Lyon’s Bradley Barcola was another option after Michael Olise sensationally turned Chelsea down to sign a new contract at Crystal Palace, but Paris Saint-Germain also want to sign the 20-year-old and Lyon are reportedly complicating negotiations by asking for a player in exchange.
