Chelsea have reportedly turned attention to Stuttgart’s 6ft 7in striker Sasa Kalajdzic as they look to bolster their attacking options. The Austrian international, who featured at Euro 2020, has made a real name for himself in the Bundesliga after rifling home 16 goals in 33 league outings last season.

A host of clubs including the likes of AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are believed to be interested in the centre-forward.

Kalajdzic is expected to part company with Stuttgart this summer although no offers are currently on the table.

Chelsea are in the hunt for a new striker, particularly following the departure of Olivier Giroud to AC Milan.

It’s a gap in their squad that now needs filling and Kalajdzic is of a similar profile to the French international, despite lacking his experience.

According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Thomas Tuchel has been following Kalajdzic for quite some time and the European champions are now ready to make their move.

He reports that West Ham are now in talks to sign Tammy Abraham, with the interest in the player already well documented.

If Abraham does depart west London for the Olympic Stadium, Chelsea will then reportedly attempt to sign Kalajdzic.

Contract talks with Chelsea have broken down following his lack of involvement after the arrival of Tuchel.

Chelsea also discussed the idea of potentially including him in a swap deal with Borussia Dortmund for Erling Haaland.

The German club were not interested in the deal though with several Premier League teams in the frame to sign him.

It’s also reported that Chelsea are refusing to give up on ‘The Terminator’ as well as Harry Kane but the Blues do want to bring in extra attacking reinforcements.

Haaland remains top of Chelsea’s wish-list but the deal is now proving to be complicated.

Borussia Dortmund are adamant the Norwegian is not for sale at any price.

It’s a stance that means Chelsea would have to pay in excess of £150million in order to force Dortmund’s hand.

However, the Blues are running the risk of missing out on the player next summer, when his £64m release clause kicks in.

Tuchel has plenty of deadwood within his ranks that he could easily offload to raise funds.

But Chelsea simply do not want to be held to ransom by Dortmund when Haaland is concerned, despite their strong interest in the player.
