Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen’s discussions over a new contract have reportedly taken a fresh turn after the Denmark international switched agents. Christensen was widely expected to pen a new deal at Stamford Bridge but that could apparently now change.
The 25-year-old is one of a handful of Blues players whose contracts expire in June.
As of January 1, Christensen could sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club and that would enable him to move for free in the summer.
The same applies to fellow defenders Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta.
Christensen was long expected to agree a new deal at Stamford Bridge. He has featured frequently under Thomas Tuchel and has made 19 appearances this term.
However, that could apparently now change after the Chelsea academy graduate switched agents.

According to the print edition of Sport, KIN Partners now manage the centre-back, whose previous agent was his father, Sten Christensen.
The report claims that talks with Chelsea over a new four-year deal have been stalled by the switch and that Barcelona are interested in a potential summer swoop.
It leaves Chelsea with a mini crisis brewing ahead of the off-season. Tuchel is also waiting on Azpilicueta and Rudiger to decide their futures.
Should all three depart, Chelsea might end up having to sign an entirely new backline.
German centre-back Rudiger has said that discussions have taken place, although it has been reported that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are interested in his services.
“The most important thing is that I feel happy here. I think if people look at it, they can see I’m happy,” the 28-year-old told the Guardian in October.
“About the contract situation, I talk with the club. This is for nobody’s ears. It was how I said it would be after the Euros – there would be talks. There was a talk between Marina [Granovskaia, a Chelsea director] and my agent.
“We have the situation where we are at now and I have nothing to do with all the speculation. This is not in my mind. I’m focused on what I’m doing because this is why I wake up every morning.”
In December, Tuchel warned Rudiger that he is not ‘bigger than the club’.

“We absolutely accept and are fully aware of the importance of Toni and the role that he’s playing on and off the pitch. There is no doubt about that,” Tuchel said.
“It’s true that nobody is bigger than the club and this is a team effort and a strong club.
“It’s not only about Toni and I mean that in the best way because we know what he’s doing and we’re fully aware of it.
“In the end, we need a bit of patience. I have no update right now.”
