Chelsea supporters were seriously unimpressed after Cole Palmer was booked against Manchester City for interfering with the penalty spot.
The 21-year-old joined Chelsea in the summer after deciding to call time on his career at Pep Guardiola’s side and has immediately endeared himself to Blues supporters.
Sunday’s clash against City was Palmer’s first time coming up against his former club and he tried to disrupt the reigning Premier League champions from opening the scoring at Stamford Bridge.
Erling Haaland was awarded a penalty midway through the first half after being hauled to the ground in a tussle with Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella.
Referee Anthony Taylor awarded the spot-kick and then booked Palmer after he was caught trying to scuff up the penalty spot in the box.

The schoolboy tactic is largely commonplace in football and Palmer is one of the latest stars to get caught in the act after Man United Alejandro Garnacho recently did the same.
Garnacho was labelled as a ‘clown’ by Copenhagen defender Denis Vavro for doing the same in United’s midweek Champions League defeat against the Danish side.
Chelsea supporters were aghast after discovering Palmer had been booked for his actions and argued that the Englishman shouldn’t have been penalised.
One onlooker tweeted: ‘Palmer booked for messing with the spot. I get the feeling he’s gonna be a City villain for the next few years.
A Chelsea fan fumed: ‘Palmer got a yellow card for scuffing the penalty spot, ridiculous.’
A third commented: ‘Palmer booked for scuffing the penalty spot. Disgusting.’
Palmer proved to be a thorn in his former side as the youngster carved openings in City’s defence and went extremely close to giving Chelsea a late lead.
Speaking pre-match, Pochettino praised Palmer’s impact since joining Chelsea, stating on Sky Sports: ‘He is a very talented player, getting more mature and experienced.
‘He has the capacity to be the playmaker that can link with his team-mates and is very important for us in the way we want to play.
‘Not talk too much as need to give him the time to learn and improve and see in few years if he will be the big player we saw.’
