Everton have asked Rennes about taking their winger Kamaldeen Sulemana on an initial loan as Frank Lampard is keen on reinforcing his attacking line.

Nevertheless, Sulemana is open to leaving Rennes during the January transfer window and could join Everton – who are currently fighting a relegation battle.

Lampard is hoping Sulemana – who joined Rennais in the summer of 2021 from FC Nordsjaelland – will strength his forward line.

However, Everton face stiff competition from Augsburg and Bournemouth for Sulemana’s services – despite the fact he has struggled with injuries this season.

Sulemana played less than 60 minutes at the 2022 World Cup after struggling with an ankle injury which he sustained just 18 days before the tournament.

Everton still need to sell players, but they have also held talks with Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma over the weekend.

Danjuma, 25, has also spoken to other Premier League sides including Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest about a potential transfer.
