Football fans think Onana has ‘been watching Beckham doc’ after Liverpool effort

Football fans have joked Everton's Amadou Onana has been watching David Beckham's Netflix documentary after he attempted to lob Alisson from the halfway line in the Merseyside derby.

Everton and Liverpool renewed their rivalry on Saturday lunchtime – with Mohamed Salah proving to be the difference, netting from the spot and then putting the game beyond doubt in added time.

However, it could have been different story if Onana had been on target when attempting a shot from inside his own-half – like Beckham. Golden Balls burst onto the scene when he found the net from inside his own half against Wimbledon.

"Onana been watching the Beckham documentary," one fan joked. While a second shared: "Onana watched the Beckham documentary and decided I want to change my destiny too!"

"What about Onana thinking he’s Beckham with that shot in his own half," a third said. And another added: "Onana attempts to catch Allison off his line with a half-line shot… someone saw the Beckham documentary during the international break!"
