Footy ultras hurl dead rats on pitch against rivals as club slam ‘stupid’ fans

Danish ultras from Brondby have been slammed as 'vermin' after hurling, well, vermin onto the pitch during their derby match.

Brondby, based in the Danish capital, had been playing against FC Copenhagen when their ultras threw dead rats onto the pitch. However, Brondby have now slammed the behaviour of their own "stupid" fans.

Communications director Christian Schultz told Ekstra Bladet: "Should our investigations confirm that a dead rat was thrown onto the pitch during the match, then it is first and foremost incomprehensibly stupid. It is something that we as a club strongly reject.

It's not the first time Brondby fans have pulled this stunt, and they infamously did the same in the 2017 fixture. However, over the weekend, there wasn't much chance to smile for the Brondby fans – and after the rat throwing, they watched their team blow a 2-1 lead. Copenhagen's hero 17-year-old Swedish forward Roony Bardghji.

Bardghji found the net in the 84th minute, before bagging his brace in the 89th – handing Copenhagen a 3-2 victory.
