The BBC has been forced to defend its Euro 2020 coverage after Scotland fans accused the broadcaster of being biased towards England.
England face Denmark at Wembley in the semi-final of the Euros on Wednesday night after Gareth Southgate’s side beat Germany 2-0 and Ukraine 4-0 in the knockout stages.
Millions will be watching ITV’s broadcast from 7pm this evening to see if England can join Italy in Sunday’s final, but not everyone will be cheering the hosts on.
That is because many have been angered by what they feel is a lopsided coverage of the tournament by the national broadcaster.
Scottish MP Kenny MacAskill has led the assault on the BBC, complaining about the “endless mentioning of the glories of ’66 and Gazza’s goal”.
The East Lothian MP, who defected from the SNP to Alex Salmond's Alba Party this year, has called for devolution of the publicly-owned broadcaster.
He is far from the only person who has been annoyed by Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand and their fellow BBC pundits and commentators.

One fan tweeted: “@BBC Your commentators for the England v Germany game are so biased in favour of England it is embarrassing.
“Are they aware that there is non-English people watching who would like an impartial commentary?”
A second added: “So annoying how biased the euro coverage is towards England on both BBC & ITV. Every conversation comes back to England.”
In response to the complaints, the BBC pointed to their use of Scottish pundits like James McFadden and Shelley Kerr, as well as their inclusion of experts from other countries like Spain’s Cesc Fabregas, Germany’s Jurgen Klinsmann and France’s Eric Abidal.

"We are proud of the expertise and experience that our team are bringing to football fans across the UK, and don't agree that our line-up shows any bias towards any one team.
"Our football coverage is watched by a very diverse audience, each with differing views and opinions, and for that reason we aim to reflect those across our programmes.
"We appreciate that not everyone will enjoy every one of our presenters, pundits, or commentators, but we are proud of the range of talent and expertise our Euros 2020 team bring to our coverage."
