Harry Maguire admits he is over the moon that Manchester United have signed Cristiano Ronaldo – branding their new recruit "the greatest player to play the game".
Ronaldo sealed an emotional return to United this week 12 years after departing to join Real Madrid, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
The 36-year-old arrives back at Old Trafford with a legacy as one of the greatest players in history cemented, having won another four Ballon d'or awards and as many Champions Leagues in his time at Madrid.
He has regularly been compared to arch-nemesis and Barcelona icon Lionel Messi throughout his career, with football fans torn as to which superstar has the edge.
But for Maguire, there is no better player in football history than CR7.
When speaking about Ronaldo's arrival at an England press conference on Wednesday, the United skipper said: "Yeah, of course, it's amazing.
"Obviously, I'm away with England at the moment so my focus is on the game tomorrow.
