Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has provided “inside information” about Mohamed Salah’s reported move to Saudi Arabia.
The former striker, 48, took up a position as manager of Saudi First Division League side Al-Qadsiah in June, just days before former Reds teammate and skipper Steven Gerrard accepted the same role at Al-Ettifaq.
But it seems the Liverpool exodus to Saudi Arabia has not come to a halt just yet. It emerged this week that Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad had reignited their interest in Reds star man Salah.
And now Fowler has added fuel to the fire by saying the interest from Saudi to make Salah their highest-paid star, exceeding the numbers earned by even Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, are “absolutely serious”.

Fowler wrote in The Mirror: “What I will do is tell you the truth as I see it on the ground out here – the link is there because the Pro League is absolutely serious about attracting the BEST players.
“I’m talking from the inside here. I know what the plan is – and that is to become one of the top five leagues in the world in the next five to 10 years. And the only way to do that is to invest in real talent.

“Which is why I wouldn't rule out Salah coming over here, if not this summer then at some point. And even in this window, you just don’t know, because it is not really down to clubs any more, it’s down to the player.”
Despite the interest, Sky Sports News have reported he's not for sale and will not be allowed to leave Anfield under any circumstances with the season underway. The Egyptian has played in both of Liverpool’s Premier League fixtures this season, scoring once.
And Fowler admits that, as a Liverpool fan, he doesn’t want to see Salah swapping Merseyside for the Middle-East just yet despite the forward “achieving everything he can achieve in English football.”
He said: “I can see him ending up here eventually – though I genuinely hope it is a long way in the future, and definitely not now.
“I say this to him: the league here is serious, and it is only going to grow, so he can come here with confidence. I’d also say, as a Liverpool fan, please don’t go Mo… not for a few years yet!”
