England fans have been defended over the popular chant ‘It’s Coming Home’ which has become the anthem of England’s remarkable Euro2020 journey. Sportswriter Neil Custis has argued that the football song has been unfairly misinterpreted in some nations as invoking a sense of “English arrogance.” Mr Custis insisted on TalkRadio ahead of the final this weekend that the song is misunderstood and in fact, England fans are being “self-deprecating.”
