Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards showed no mercy to Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel after their premature Champions League exit.
The Red Devils were knocked out of Europe altogether on Tuesday (December 12) night as Bayern Munich beat them 1-0 at Old Trafford. They finished bottom of their group, with Copenhagen progressing to the knockout stage and Galatasaray making the Europa League.
Schmeichel, who won the competition with United back in 1999, was in attendance at the Theatre of Dreams for yet another disappointing performance from Erik ten Hag's side. He was working as a pundit for CBS Sports.

But before he could get a response out, Liverpool icon Carragher interrupted: "Oh Peter, Peter what's wrong?" Before Manchester City ambassador Richards told him: "Peter, we've got a song for you."

The pair then brutally broke out into a rendition of 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life'. Schmeichel admitted: "What can I say, not a lot of fun here at Old Trafford for sure."
Once he could get a word in edgeways, the 60-year-old criticised the lack of support from the home crowd. "Everything about today was a little bit weird here at Old Trafford," he explained.

"Just before the kick off, I said the stadium was not full, there was no atmosphere, a bit of a weird atmosphere. It took up to the 51st minute for the home fans to do anything like a little bit of support for the team."
He didn't excuse the efforts from the team though, adding: "On the pitch, it was just average and that is even being nice. There are a lot of players in that team who have to have a meeting with themselves and look at that performance today."
