John Terry gives glowing verdict as Mo Salah shows off ripped physique again

Chelsea legend John Terry has weighed in on the 'photoshop' debate after Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah's latest holiday snap.

The Egypt superstar is enjoying a holiday in a rare break in the football calendar, having ended months of speculation over his future. Salah agreed terms on a new three-year contract which will make him the best-paid player in the Reds' history.

The deal was confirmed during the forward's summer break, and he continues to share updates from his relaxing trip abroad. Salah has showed off his physique ahead of a gruelling pre-season under Jurgen Klopp, and saw a former team-mate poke fun at his latest post.

Dejan Lovren spent six seasons on the red-half of Merseyside before leaving for Zenit St Petersburg in 2020. The centre-back spotted an opportunity on Salah's picture to aim a cheeky dig at his former team-mate.

The Croatia international questioned the authenticity of the shot of the former AS Roma star emerging from the sea, which has been liked more than 770,000 times in less than a day. Lovren commented: "Photoshop 100%"

The response proved pretty popular among fans, with the defender's comment earning almost 10,000 likes itself. It also drew a reply from another former centre-back and team-mate of Salah who leapt to the Liverpool star's defence.

John Terry briefly played alongside the 30-year-old during his forgettable stint at Stamford Bridge, and joked he would share similar snaps if he had the same physique. The Blues legend wrote in response to Lovren: "To be fair if I looked like that I would be posting pics."

Salah's future had been the subject of intense speculation over last season, with fans fearing he could follow Sadio Mane out of the club. The Golden Boot winner had ruled out leaving Liverpool this summer, but rumours had mounted over interest from Barcelona and the Reds' top-flight rivals.

However, an agreement has been reached on an incentivised extension with a reported salary in excess of £350,000 per week. Salah told the club's website: “I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone.

“It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next. Ithink you can see in the last five or six years the team was always going [upwards].

"Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season we lost two trophies. I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We have new signings as well. We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again.”
