Kylian Mbappe 'will join Real Madrid for FREE next summer'

Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid for FREE next summer after signing a pre-contract in January as PSG stall on the mega deal… even though Los Blancos were prepared to splash out £189m on French superstar

  • Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid is reportedly off after PSG stalled in talks
  • The LaLiga side were said to have prepared an £189m before walking away
  • They will instead snap up the superstar on a free transfer next summer

Real Madrid will seal a sensational free transfer for Kylian Mbappe next summer after failing with a last-ditch attempt to bring the PSG superstar to the Bernabeu, according to reports.

Mbappe – widely regarded as one of the best players in world football – has just one year left on his contract in Paris and has been strongly linked with a move to Madrid, having failed to sign fresh terms.

Following Lionel Messi’s stunning switch to PSG, the LaLiga giants made their move for Mbappe – tabling an initial £137million offer, which was swiftly rejected, with Madrid then upping their bid to £145m plus £9m in add ons – but this was also turned down by the Parisiens.

Kylian Mbappe will get his move to Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer, reports claim

Carlo Ancelotti’s side made a late move to sign the Frenchman but PSG rejected multiple bids

And now Sky Sports claim that the deal is dead in the water – with Madrid walking away from the negotiating table after trying their luck with a final £189m bid and hearing nothing from PSG.

Los Blancos will now move to wrap up Mbappe’s transfer next summer for absolutely nothing after they have agreed pre-contractual terms with the World Cup winner in January, the report adds.

It spells the end for one of the most hotly-debated transfer sagas of the summer and instead leaves football fans drooling about the prospect of him linking up with fellow forwards Messi and Neymar this season.

Mbappe has been intent on joining Madrid and has rejected offers to renew his current deal

PSG’s remarkable deal to sign Messi has clearly done nothing to deter Mbappe from his wish of moving to Spain. Le Parisien reported on Tuesday that PSG made a final attempt to agree a new contract, but that the player snubbed a deal worth around £39m a year.

His club have shown serious defiance to stop their high profile player from leaving – even though they risk losing him for nothing.

The club’s transfer chief Leonardo was furious with Real’s attempt to sign Mbappe and accused them of an ‘illegal’ approach. The Frenchman signed for PSG from Monaco for around £165m in 2017 and the club supremo felt Madrid did not meet their demands to let him go.

In a interview, Leonardo said: ‘PSG’s position has always been to keep Kylian. That’s been the aim for the last two years and it remains unchanged.

For now, football fans will be looking forward to seeing him link up with Leo Messi this season

‘We made him (Mbappe) a big offer two months ago – at the level of the best players – and another even more recently which was even higher, but this is a strategy of Real Madrid, to have the name of one of our players.

‘For the last two years the behavior of Madrid has been incorrect, illegal, getting in contact with his representatives, unacceptable, completely incorrect towards us. And the proof of this strategy is to present an offer seven days before the market shuts and a year before the end of his contract. It seems like a strategy that suggests they have tried everything.

‘It’s not the sum [offered] which we believe to be a long way from what we were thinking. And we are not going to sell a player for less than we paid for him when he was 18. We have to give a certain amount to Monaco and the offer is not sufficient.’

Transfer deadline day wasn’t a total disappointment for Madrid – they have secured the signing of midfield starlet Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes on a six year deal.
