Liverpool target Kacper Kozlowski given "crucial" transfer advice by Lewandowski

Liverpool transfer target Kacper Kozlowski has been given "crucial" advice concerning a potential move by international teammate Robert Lewandowski.

The 17-year-old has registered three goals in nine games this season for Polish top-flight side Pogon Szczecin despite operating as a central midfielder.

Kozlowski holds the record for the youngest player to appear at the finals of a European Championship, being deployed from the bench in Poland's 1-1 draw with Spain.

The teenager has been linked with a move to Anfield with Jurgen Klopp desperate to add numbers to an ever-depleting midfield situation.

Thiago, Naby Kieta and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are yet to prove themselves as regular starters having spent most of their time on the treatment table leaving the German gaffer with just four fit starting midfielders.

Despite the Reds in desperate need, Poland captain Robert Lewandowski doesn't believe a move to the Premier League would be a wise choice for his teammate and has spoken to Kozlowski persuading him to stay at his current club:

"Looking at how he moves, how he looks and behaves, he is definitely older than his passport indicates,” said the Bayern Munich sensation, speaking to Polish outlet Sport.

"(He’s) got talent. If he does everything wisely, a bright future awaits him.

"But if you don’t have double-digit goals and assists in the league, it will be difficult for you to break through abroad. Abroad, you cannot play phenomenally once in five matches. You have to show high quality from the very beginning.

"Because if you don’t show that, there are thousands of others ready to take your place. There is not much time to adapt."

At just 17, Kozlowski has time on his side and is in no rush to make a decision regarding his future.

Due to his age, the Poland midfielder has only had one season of regular football. His international captain is adamant he should continue his progression in Poland:

"The level that Kacper is already showing is rare. Such experience, sophistication and awareness is rarely found at this age," Lewandowski added.

"The next two or three years may be crucial for him. I told him not to think about leaving, but to think about how to make ten goals or ten assists in the league."
