Manchester City have been heavily linked with moves for both Jack Grealish and Harry Kane this summer, with the pair both expected to cost at least £100m each. Now that England’s involvement at Euro 2020 is over, both Grealish and Kane’s futures can be sorted ahead of the new season.

According to a report from the Athletic, the pair are City’s ‘two biggest targets’.

There have been suggestions that the club will be only be able to sign one of them this summer and that they will have to make a decision on which deal to prioritise.

However, the report claims that this is ‘not the case’, with City prepared to sign both of them.

A number of established first-team stars have been linked with moves away from the Etihad, including Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus and Aymeric Laporte, and these outgoings could help finance the Kane and Grealish deals.

Several youngsters could also be sold to help raise funds.

Jack Harrison has already made his loan move to Leeds United a permanent one for £11m, while Lukas Nmecha looks set to join Wolfsburg for a similar fee.

Morgan Rogers has been linked with a £7m switch to Crystal Palace, Pedro Porro is on Sporting’s radar and Ivan Ilic is of interest to Hellas Verona.

Yangel Herrera, meanwhile, is attracting interest from the likes of West Ham and Leeds.

The Athletic claim that ‘senior figures at the club have talked about a big summer of transfers’ and City believe it will take between £175m and £215m to sign both Kane and Grealish.

It is noted that it will be difficult to prise the pair away from their current clubs, with Tottenham Hotspur chief Daniel Levy desperate to keep hold of Kane and Aston Villa said to be confident that Grealish will sign a new contract.

However, City believe a deal could be reached for Grealish due to a reported release clause hidden in his contract, which the club is said to be willing to trigger.

City could also look to strengthen their backline, with a new left-back being considered.

First-choice Benjamin Mendy has struggled with injury problems throughout his entire City career, prompting midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko to be converted into a left-back.

Right-back Joao Cancelo also regularly featured on the left last season.

However, the addition of a new left-back would be dependent on the sale of Mendy.

It is also stated that City would be looking for a cut-price option.
