Manchester City have added Chelsea’s Reece James to their already hefty transfer wish-list this summer.
The Athletic report City manager Pep Guardiola is a huge fan of the pacey right-back whose meteoric rise at Chelsea culminated in a Champions League winners’ medal last season.
Guardiola’s side have already been strongly linked with a £100milion move for England stars Harry Kane, 27, and Jack Grealish, 25, despite claiming they had no money to spend last month.
Now City have turned their attention to James in a transfer window which could see them spend north of £200million should they secure the signatures of all three England internationals.
James impressed Guardiola in the Champions League final where he incidentally pocketed Man City winger Raheem Sterling with ease.
The Chelsea academy graduate has since gone on to be included in Gareth Southgate’s exclusive list of players for the Euros, though he hasn’t featured yet.
Still, James’ stock is rising and it’s unlikely the Blues would let a player of his ilk, age and Chelsea background go to a direct rival.
This is especially true as Thomas Tuchel’s side were unsuccessful in their pursuit of Achraf Hakimi last week, who is set to join Paris Saint-Germain.

City meanwhile already have two high quality internationals at right-back in Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo.
James has four years left on his contract and right-back isn’t a position which needs urgent reinforcement for City, unlike the hole left by Sergio Aguero’s departure up-front.
The Chelsea defender will still be on Guardiola’s radar come next summer where the Spaniard may be more inclined to splash out due to Walker’s age.
