Manchester United have unveiled Sofyan Amrabat in his new jersey and revealed the kit number he will wear at Old Trafford this season.
The Red Devils paid Fiorentina £8million to lure the Moroccan international on a season-long loan last week, signing the midfielder on deadline day in a move that could be made permanent next summer for £21m.
Man United invested heavily in securing their final transfer target of the window just before its closure, with the club’s director of football negotiations Matt Hargreaves flying to Italy to ensure the deal got over the line.
Erik ten Hag’s side have recruited heavily this summer, bringing in top targets including Mason Mount from Chelsea, former Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund, in a £72m move that made the rising starlet the most expensive Serie A player of the window.
With the deal signed, the club were keen to share the number that Amrabat will sport for the 2023/24 campaign.

The Morocco star will wear No 4, which most recently adorned the shirt of defender Phil Jones, following the expiration of his contract this summer.
Jones had worn the number since 2011 and his move from Blackburn Rovers 12 years earlier, and other previous incumbants include Owen Hargreaves, Juan Sebastian Veron, and Gabriel Heinze.
The first player of the Premier League era to sport the number, as per the club’s website, was Steve Bruce, the then-club captain, during the 1993/94 campaign.
At Fiorentina, the player wore No 34 – which is currently attached to the jersey of out-of-favour midfielder Donny van de Beek – but the player regularly wears the No 4 for his country.
In the wake of his signing, club legend Rio Ferdinand was quick to caution his former side over Amrabat’s disciplinary record, stressing the need for the player to ‘adapt quickly’.
Last season, Amrabat accumulated a staggering 16 yellow cards for club and country.

Upon arrival at Carrington, Amrabat shared his delight at joining the side, and spoke of how he was keen to inject ‘passion’ in Ten Hag’s side.
‘It is a huge honour to become a Manchester United player,’ he shared. ‘I’ve had to be patient for this moment but I’m someone who always listens to my heart and now I am representing the club of my dreams.
‘I am a passionate player; I want to bring that energy to the squad, and I will put everything into every action I take for the team. I know exactly how Erik ten Hag likes to work and what he needs from his players.
‘His coaching and guidance developed me so much as a player earlier in my career; I know that he will help to bring out the best of my abilities so that I can help the group to be successful this season.’
