Manchester United are still interested in signing Kieran Trippier and will be prepared to sell Diogo Dalot to Roma if the England full-back moves to Old Trafford in January, according to reports. The Red Devils were heavily linked with Trippier during pre-season after the 31-year-old was identified as a target by the club’s hierarchy.
There were said to be concerns over Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s attacking output, leading United to consider alternative options in the summer transfer window.
Trippier was quickly earmarked as a potential signing after helping Atletico Madrid to win La Liga last season and was reportedly keen on joining the Red Devils.
He was said to have made arrangements for his family to relocate to Manchester over the summer, but was ultimately denied a move to United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have since endured a lacklustre start to their Premier League campaign and currently occupy sixth place in the table.
It seems as though United could soon revisit the possibility of strengthening their ranks at right-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka often struggling to impress in the position as of late.

The Red Devils are still keen on landing Trippier and may decide to launch a move for his services in January, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The report claims that United will allow Dalot to join Roma if they can successfully bring the Atletico Madrid man to the club.
Roma boss Jose Mourinho is believed to be interested in a move for Dalot, who has struggled for first-team minutes at United this season.
The Portuguese defender spent last season on loan at AC Milan and turned plenty of heads during his time with the San Siro giants.
A permanent move was discussed over the summer, but Dalot ended up staying at Old Trafford.
However, Roma are now said to have joined Milan in the race to land the 22-year-old and will be allowed to sign him if Trippier joins United in January.
Dalot recently admitted that he decided to snub a move away in order to fight for his place at United and build on his injury-plagued spell at the club to date.
“You adapt, then you get injured and when you return the team is at a high level of intense training, playing games,” Dalot told The Telegraph earlier this month.

“I was probably pushing too much and my body was not dealing very well with that adapting. That is why I knew last season was massive for me.
“My body was feeling those changes and when I went to Milan it was perfect to balance everything and return to this season.
“That is why I wanted to stay here, fight for games and be an important player for the team.
“I wanted to stay here and the club trusted me to stay here. My mind was completely focused on having an important role in this team.”
