Manchester United are eying a shock move for Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer, according to reports.

The 28-year-old Denmark international joined Tottenham in a £15m deal from Southampton three years ago, when Jose Mourinho was manager of Spurs.
Hojbjerg has made 147 appearances for Tottenham to date but the north Londoners are open to selling him before the summer transfer window closes.
He was strongly linked with Spanish side Atletico Madrid, who agreed a £30m deal with Spurs but they were unable to agree personal terms with the player.
Hojbjerg then snubbed a lucrative offer from a team in Saudi Arabia, meaning he is still on the market ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
United boss Erik ten Hag is thought to be desperate to sign a new central midfielder and the Red Devils have now been offered the chance to open talks over Hojbjerg and they are considering a move, according to The Telegraph.
Hojbjerg has come off the bench in two of Tottenham’s three Premier League games so far this season, with head coach Ange Postecoglou opting to start Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr ahead of him.
United have also been linked to Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat but insist their interest in the midfielder has been blown out of proportion.
United’s problems in midfield have been evident in their first three Premier League fixtures while Mason Mount is set to miss the next month and Scott McTominay is a possible departure.
Ten Hag’s side are back in action on Sunday when they travel to the Emirates to face last season’s Premier League runners-up Arsenal.
