Sheffield Utd V Man Utd: Pictures
Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood was spotted purchasing a meal from Burger King with his father after Getafe boss Jose Bordalas had banned players from junk food, risking being fined in the process. The one-cap England forward is spending the season at the Spanish side, having failed to find a permanent exit from Old Trafford after he was told that he would not be returning to Erik ten Hag’s squad.
Greenwood has been welcomed by the La Liga club, but ran the risk of being disciplined after going against his head coach’s strict orders. According to The Sun, Bordalas routinely weighs his players and they are subsequently fined if they are deemed too heavy as a result of fast food.
But Greenwood was clocked at Burger King with his father Andrew after Friday’s training session in Madrid, as he rolled up in his Mercedes and dad went inside to collect two meals from the restaurant that could land the 22-year-old in hot water with Bordalas, if one of those meals was for Greenwood.
It remains unclear whether the United loanee has a special exemption from the rule and the club has not yet commented publicly on whether he has been punished, but Greenwood did play 78 minutes the following day as Getafe drew 1-1 at home to Real Betis after early goals from Marc Roca and Borja Mayoral.

JUST IN Man Utd tell Mason Greenwood his chances of return depending on Getafe form[LATEST]
Despite scoring once and claiming one assist in his opening six La Liga games, Greenwood’s loan spell has not come without controversy. Having had all charges against him dropped in February, a lengthy internal investigation led to United deciding against bringing him back into the fold as he searched for a new club.
Having landed in Getafe on transfer deadline day, supporters from rivals Osasuna then directed an offensive chant towards the Englishman before their match in September. Shouts of “Greenwood die” could be heard in San Mames, where he made his first start for the club, as he was also whistled and jeered at by the Osasuna fans during the game.

He is unlikely to return and play again for United next season, despite a behind-the-scenes change that could see Sir Jim Ratcliffe purchase a 25 per cent stake in the club for approximately £1.35billion and oversee the sporting side of the Red Devils.
They will be hoping that an impressive spell in Spain for Greenwood can improve their chances of getting him off the books permanently, with a year-and-a-half left on his contract.
But going against his Getafe boss by purchasing a Burger King meal may not do him any favours with Bordalas, who backed the controversial signing when he arrived in Spain. “It is a very delicate situation to trivialise that issue,” Bordalas said after Greenwood’s loan was confirmed.
“We all know the potential he has. He is a very young boy and we hope that he adapts to a very different league. Surely he wants to recover his professional status and Getafe can help him in that sense.”
