Mason Holgate believes he can win trophies at Everton .
The defender penned a new five-year contract to keep him at Goodison Park until June 2025.
Holgate, 23, has become an important part of Carlo Ancelotti's first team since the Italian took over at the club.
And he believes the club is going in the right direction as he committed his future to the Toffees.
Holgate said: “This is my fifth year at Everton and my development as a person and a player in that period has been massive.

“The direction the club is going, it is a great club to be at and I am really excited about it.
“We want to move to the next step and push for bigger and better things.
“I want to win things – and winning some silverware is where I see us.

“It is definitely a positive time to be here and I am looking forward to seeing how far we can go.”
Holgate joined the from Barnsley in 2015 and has made 74 first-team appearances since his debut against Tottenham Hotspur in August 2016.

He spent last season on loan at West Brom before returning in the summer and former boss Marco Silva's failure to sign a central defender gave him a chance.
Holgate has taken that and made himself Yerry Mina's central defensive partner and got ahead of Michael Keane in the pecking order.
