Manchester United continue to be frustrated by Mino Raiola’s refusal to discuss Paul Pogba’s future, according to reports. Pogba is out of contract at United at the end of the season, but the club are desperately trying to prevent the France international leaving on a free transfer.

Pogba has started seven of United’s eight Premier League matches so far this season ahead of Sunday’s visit of Liverpool.

He has started to prove his worth under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Pogba has registered seven assists already, two more than any other player in the English top flight.

But speculation continues to surround his future at Old Trafford.

Spanish outlet AS says Real Madrid have reignited their interest in Pogba.

They are keen on signing the player on a free transfer and can begin negotiations as early as January.

United will not make it easy for Real though and are determined to thrash out a deal with Pogba.

But the player’s agent Raiola is still not opening talks with the Red Devils.

In fact, AS says Raiola is unwilling to discuss a new contract with United chiefs until next April.

That has alerted Real, putting them in a stronger position to negotiate with the player.

Real’s interest in the 28-year-old initially cooled following the departure of Zinedine Zidane as head coach.

Pogba was a priority signing for Zidane but is now described as a ‘market opportunity’ for Los Blancos due to him potentially being available for free.

Real also think signing Pogba would further convince Kylian Mbappe to join them from Paris Saint-Germain.

Pogba was dropped to the bench for Wednesday’s Champions League match at home to Atalanta.

But he came off the bench in the second half to help his side come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2.

He claims there is a growing confidence among the players that they can win from any situation.

“There’s been change,” Pogba told Sony Sports.

“There’s some good energy, you can see the energy and the atmosphere on the pitch. Even when we were losing, we kept believing in it. It takes time to come but we can get there, and the start was today.

“We could feel the crowd behind us, they always push us. You could feel Old Trafford had come to win us this game.

“Of course I’m confident, otherwise I wouldn’t be in this squad and in this team. This is a big club, if you’re not confident for this, you have nothing to do here.”
