Norwich City have sacked manager Daniel Farke despite the side beating Brentford 2-1 on the same day.
Farke's dismissal comes following a dreadful start to the campaign, which sees Norwich bottom of the table and five points from safety after just 11 games.
The Canaries have lost eight of their matches this season and scored a measly five goals – four less than second-lowest scoring side Tottenham.
And despite the German leading his side to their first win of the season away at Brentford on Saturday, the club have decided against allowing him to carry out the rest of his contract.
Norwich's official statement on the club website read: "Daniel departs Carrow Road having overseen 208 competitive games at the helm across a four-and-a-half-year spell."
Farke's dismissal comes after four-and-a-half years in charge of the Canaries, during which he claimed the 2018/19 Championship title and promotion.
The manager repeated that feat in 2020/21 by accumulating a club record total of 97 points, but had struggled thus far in the Premier League.
Farke's side had gone 10 games without a win prior to the Brentford game where they fended off a late push by the home side.

But three points courtesy of first-half goals from Mathias Normann and Teemu Pukki were not enough to save the manager.
Sporting director Stuart Webber said: “In continuing to demand the very best for our football club, this decision was not an easy one.
“I know how determined Daniel and his staff were to succeed at this level, but we feel that now is the right time for a change to give ourselves the best opportunity of retaining our Premier League status.
“All at Norwich City should be forever grateful to Daniel and his staff for the significant role they have played in our journey.
