Pogba comments that angered PSG fans and could rule out transfer from Man Utd

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could have ruled out a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, the club he has been heavily linked to after turning down a new contract at Old Trafford.

The 28-year-old was offered a deal worth an eye-watering £350,000-a-week but is set to leave Manchester for a second time either this summer for a fee or for nothing in a year's time.

Many believe it could be to return to France but on Saturday, PSG supporters left banners outside the club's stadium and training ground urging Paul Pogba against joining them this summer.

The one outside of the Parc des Princes read: 'Pogba you should listen to your mother, she doesn't want you here. Neither do we!''

That could significantly hinder a move to Mauricio Pochettino's side, following comments in 2018.

In an interview with Canal+, the France international said: "I'm sure that I wouldn't play club football at the Parc des Princes.

"I'm not attracted to that because my father and mother were fans of Marseille so Paris doesn't really fit into my plans."

With a lack of talk around a move to Real Madrid and former club Juventus, however, Pogba may have had a change of heart with the Parisians going all out to reclaim their Ligue 1 crown and win an allusive Champions League.

Georginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma have already signed for PSG, making Pochettino and co a force to be reckoned with.

While starring for France at Euro 2020, Pogba commented on his club future, saying: "I have one year left on my contract, everybody knows that. I have not yet had a concrete contract extension offer.

"We have finished the season. There was the Europa League final and after the holidays.

"I have not yet sat down with the manager [Solskjaer], we have not yet spoken. I am still at Manchester United."

When asked if he has had a phone call with PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Pogba replied: "I don’t have his number."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who signed a new three-year contract on Saturday, lifted the lid on the United midfielder's future.

"Talks are ongoing between Paul’s representative and the club representatives," he revealed.

"All the dialogue I’ve had with Paul is that he’s looking forward to the season."

Solskjaer was then pushed on whether he wanted him to stay, responding: "[There's] always speculation about Paul and there’s always clubs being interested.

"Of course we’ve seen Paul at his best and Paul knows what we feel about it and I’ve enjoyed my time working with him and hopefully we can work together."

The Red Devils begin their Premier League campaign at home to Leeds United on Saturday, August 14, and supporters can at least look forward to seeing Jadon Sancho line up following his £73 million transfer.
