Real Madrid have reportedly bid £41m to wrap up a January deal for Paris Saint-Germain hitman Kylian Mbappe. The prodigal Frenchman is one of Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s jewels in the crown, yet his future at the Parc des Princes is extremely uncertain.

Mbappe is currently free to negotiate pre-contract agreements with prospective clubs, with his contract at the Ligue One table toppers set to expire at the end of June.

PSG are still desperately trying to convince the World Cup winner to sign a new contract and commit his future at the club.

But despite playing alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Sergio Ramos, the 23-year-old is seemingly gravitating towards Real Madrid.

However, stunning reports from transfer guru Giovanni Branchini, claim Carlo Ancelotti’s side have offered £41million to sign the hitman in the January transfer window.

While Mbappe looks set leave the French capital on a free transfer at the end of the season, Branchini believes Los Blancos are keen to wrap up the deal in the current market.

“Now it depends on PSG. Real Madrid has returned to the race to have Mbappé immediately and has offered 50 million euros (£41m) a few days ago,” Branchini said to Marca.

“I don’t know how it will end. It certainly seems to me that Florentino Pérez’s initiative deserves attention, it is a message of stability for the system.

“In the end, it is a shame for everyone that a player like Mbappe moves in the summer on a free transfer. I don’t know what they want to do in Paris.”

Branchini’s reports come four days after Mbappe stated he will “100 per-cent” remain with the club until the end of the season.

“I’m at PSG, I’m really happy. I will finish the season [here], 100 per cent,” Mbappe said in an interview with CNN.

“I will give everything I have to win the Champions League, the league and the cup [Coupe de France] and to give all the pleasure to the fans, because they deserve it. And I think I deserve to win something great with PSG.”

It would not be the first time Real Madrid have arrived out of the blue to try and poach the striker.

In the closing stages of the summer transfer window, the La Liga giants launched a huge £167m bid to sign to sign him on deadline day, according to ESPN.

The fee would have matched the £166m PSG initially spent to sign Mbappe, when he was a raw, but yet sensational prospect playing for Monaco.

However, further reports from ESPN also said the French giants ignored their approaches and did not even respond to their bid.

Mbappe has once again been on fire for the Parisians this season, contributing 15 goals and 17 assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.

He has also contributed an impressive four goals and seven assists in six Champions League appearances for Pochettino’s men.
