Russia boss Stanislav Cherchesov has taken the unusual step of stating that “beautiful girls” will be banned from entering the country’s dressing room during the European Championship.
Cherchesov, who guided Russia to their first win of Euro 2020 against Finland on Wednesday, was speaking after reports that pop star Olga Buzova could be allowed into the changing room.
Buzova, 35, gained notoriety on Saturday after bursting into tears during an appearance on Match TV where the host questioned her football knowledge following Belgium’s 3-0 win over Russia.
It led to reports that the singer could be allowed into Russia’s dressing room at the tournament – a suggestion that was quickly shut down by Cherchesov.
Speaking ahead of the clash with Finland, he said: “I don't watch TV when the tournament is on.
“I did not watch the broadcast with Buzova. I'm glad they are worried about [Russia's fortunes].
“The criticism was well deserved. It can be deserved even after victories. We must get revenge for our defeat, so cheer for us."

Asked whether Buzova would be allowed into the dressing room, he continued: “Naturally, we will not let beautiful girls into the locker room.”
Russia coped just fine without Buzova on Wednesday, with a goal in first half injury time from Aleksei Miranchuk enough to secure a 1-0 win over Finland.
The victory was enough to move Russia into second-place in Group B, level on points with the Finns and also Belgium, who face Denmark tomorrow.
Cherchesov’s side will travel to Copenhagen to face Denmark in their final group game on June 21.
Finland will host Russia in St Petersburg on the same date, with both matches kicking off at the same time.
