Santos star Yeferson Soteldo explains ‘dream’ of securing Man Utd transfer

Santos star Yeferson Soteldo has opened up on his wish of one day playing in the Premier League for Manchester United.

Soteldo, who has shown good potential since joining Santon in 2019, has been approached by Brazilian and MLS sides.

He has not yet received attention from Europe, but the 22-year-old winger is hopeful of playing on English shores later in his career.

And, this week, Sotelo was asked about his future, revealing his wish of one day turning out for the Red Devils.

He responded to Venezuelan outlet Ruta Vinotinto: “I have the dream of playing for Manchester United.”

Soteldo has made 17 appearances for Venezuela, making his international debut in 2016.

At 22, the Santos star would fit in with Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer philosophy.

The boss previously said: “It’s about getting your philosophy through and principles of how we want to play.

“At Man United, we play without fear, we play with courage. Go out there and express your skills.

“Be the kids that love to play football and go out and play in front of the best fans in the world.

“As Sir Matt [Busby] once said, if they're good enough, they're old enough.

“We are built on that tradition. We need young players coming through.

In his first transfer window, Solskjaer signed Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James. He then brought Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo to the club in January.

United return to action on Sunday as they host rivals Manchester City in the Premier League.

It comes after a 3-0 win over Derby put the Red Devils into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, where they will face Norwich.
