Tottenham supporters are praying that Harry Kane’s hat-trick against Albania for England will result in him finding his feet once more for the Lilywhites as they look to kickstart their season under new manager Antonio Conte.

The Three Lions captain indeed scored his second hat-trick of the season as England won 5-0 at Wembley – but stats show that his overall scoring ability this campaign has been way off the mark, for Spurs in particular.

But his performance tonight under Gareth Southgate was exemplary, in particular his fabulous assist to Jordan Henderson in the first-half.

The showing of such a superb all-round performance has seen Spurs fans online gushing at the prospect that Kane could rekindle the form he possessed in the last campaign in which he finished the league’s top-scorer (23) and provider of the most assists (14).

This season, however, Kane has scored just a single goal in the league despite having ten goals, a chip over Karl Darlow against struggling Newcastle.

One said: “Hoping Kane can take this form back to Spurs i know it’s only Albania but goals is what he needs.”

Another said: “Keep going Kane, make it as hard for the next guy as possible, and hold the title for as long as possible!!!! #OneOfOurOwn.”

A third stated: “Harry Kane is still there, he never left. And I have a feeling Antonio Conte will prove that soon.”

One joked: “Conte rubbing his hands together watching this Harry Kane performance. Might even be rubbing something else…”

One more said: “Conte bans ketchup and Kane starts scoring again. He’s a genius.”

With his three goals, Kane broke Wayne Rooney’s competitive record for the national side and he also levelled Jimmy Greaves’ total goalscoring record.

Southgate’s men are just within one point of securing a place in the World Cup 2022 so just a draw over San Marino on Monday night will have Euro 2020 finalists enter the competition.
