William Saliba’s agent is today meeting with Arsenal technical director Edu to hold talks over the defender’s future, according to reports. Saliba’s agent Niang Djibril posted a picture on his Instagram story this afternoon appearing to show he had arrived at the meeting. Reports say Djibril was at Highbury House ahead of speaking to Edu.
Saliba is yet to make a first-team appearance for Arsenal since his £27million arrival from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2019.
The Frenchman spent the 2019/20 campaign back on loan with the Ligue 1 club but saw his game time limited due to injury problems as well as the season being cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Saliba did not feature in the first half of last term under Mikel Arteta and returned to France in January, where he impressed on loan at Nice.
Saliba was expected to be a part of Arteta’s plans going forward, especially following the departure of David Luiz at the end of his contract this summer.

However, reports continue to circulate linking the 20-year-old with another move away.
Newcastle are said to be interested in signing Saliba on loan for next season.
And it appears talks are now ongoing about where the centre-back’s future lies.
Football.london claims Djibril is meeting Edu to hold talks over plans for Saliba.

Arsenal’s interest in Brighton and England star Ben White could well have prompted Djibril into having a discussion with Edu.
Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign White, which would likely further restrict Saliba’s game time next season.
Saliba leaving Arsenal on loan again would go against what Arteta said about the defender earlier this year.
“William is our player for sure and that’s the decision we’re going to be taking soon,” Arteta said.
“When we finish the season we will sit down and discuss the roles of every member in our squad and how they can fulfil that role.
“He’s our player so he’ll be back here for sure. After that, we will make a decision based on an agreement of the role each player is going to have in our squad.”
Speaking last year, Saliba revealed his disappointment at his lack of opportunities with the Gunners.
Saliba said: “I would have liked for him to play me more. But he told me I wasn’t ready.
“I was waiting for him to give me a chance, but football is like that. When I initially came to Arsenal the league looked very good, so I showed up to training and wanted to train on my own to show the coach I was ready.”
