Herald Sun form analyst Gilbert Gardiner runs the rule over Friday night’s card at Cranbourne.
BEST BET
JAYROD TOO (R5 No.1 – $3.80)
Put a space on them winning last start at Bairnsdale in similar grade. Up in weight but drawn to get a nice run in transit.
NEXT BEST
IMPRINTED (R2 No.2 – $2.15)
Nailed late on debut here at Cranbourne and with even luck should be going one better. Sits on speed and keeps running, jockey Billy Egan sticks.
WRITTLE (R3 No.9 – $3.90)
Nice debut at Sale when led almost everywhere but the winning post. Similar tactics would see him hard to beat. Favourite Kermy the big danger but proven costly at short odds lately.

VALUE BET
HANDFUL (R4 No.4 – $7)
Improved out of sight second up so should only be better for that experience. Capable on rain-affected ground and despite the wide alley could cause the upset.
BREASLEY (R8 No.7 – $14)
Gets back in races but boasts an explosive turn of foot. Drawn out so should be able to find the clear galloping room in the straight to make his presence felt.
THE JOCKEY
DAMIEN THORNTON
Despite not riding any of the short-priced favourites the gun jockey should be a force on Friday night with a number of winning chances.
LIBERTUS (R1 No.2 – $5), ECO WARRIOR (R2 No.1 – $9.50), AGNELLI (R3 No.6 – $8.50), SUPPRESSION (R5 No.7 – $6), SHOW SOME DECORUM (R7 No.5 – $4.60) and HILLCREST MOSES (R8 No.4 – $4.80)
